I have been reading about all the ways to back up my site.

I found a page that listed 4 ways.

    1. Through the wp tools>export option

    2. Through phpmyadmin

    3. Plugin

    4. Cpanel.

    I have some questions:

    1. EXCEPT for a PAID plugin is there a plugin that backs up the database and all the files image etc. say every month AUTOMATICALLY? If so does it work with all hosting accounts, godaddy etc AND just works in general? I thought EZPZ One Click Backup was the plugin to do that, but I had it working and emailing me each month and backing up etc but sometime in Jan it stopped working.

    2. Whats the difference between: native wp export option, cpanel and phpmyadmin?

    (1) I could highly recommend this plugin to backup the database and all files.

    (2) The WP export option takes an xml of the posts/pages. The cpanel backup copies all your settings - including email and so forth. phpmyadmin deals with only the database.

Second the support for BackWPUp. Works wonderfully, and it makes a backup of the database, XML file, and selected theme files. Additionally you can have the backups automatically stored on the server, in your DropBox, emailed to you...there are a lot of options.

You can select what you want to backup, when, and how often.
