Backup keeps failing

Hi everyone
I’m not a techie, my website was built for me and I do know what I need to do…but when it goes wrong…I’m a little lost.
Each month I perform a backup of my site and it normally works fine. This time it hasn’t. There were updates to wordpress and plugins pending which I ignored and tried my backup. This failed 3 times. I then did the updates thinking that might be stopping it, but its still not working.
It seems to get to 78% and then it starts to fail and says its retrying. Now I’ve got this message:
