Hi, I installed this plugin a few weeks ago after it was recommended by tech support at my web host.

I use BackupBuddy to create backup files and I noticed that the Full site backup files grew from 219MB before installing Bulletproof Security, to 4.45GB after installing Bulletproof Security.

Can you let me know what may have happened? I’m guessing some files have been duplicated but I’m not sure what and where. The site is http://www.everintransit.com

    Thanks!

This would not have anything to do with BPS. What you need to do to figure this out is to look at your backup and check the sizes of files and folders that are being backed up.

Where you able to figure this out? All backup plugins have settings where you can exclude folders and files so most likely you just need to exclude any folders that have large files or are a large amount of files that total 4.45GB and that really do not need to be backed up. Really the WordPress DB is the only thing that needs to be backed up. Files are easily replaced. Your Database content is not easily replaced.

Resolving. General question unrelated to BPS.

Thanks, I’ll reach out to the backup plugin developer. I have not figured it out yet, looked for large files in the cPanel file manager and couldn’t find anything large. Just noticed that backup two days ago was 8GB! I need to figure this out.

    Thanks for your help!
