    I have been having some issues with Duplicator (sadly, cause it’s an awesome plugin). Mainly it has been drainage of resources – on an otherwise quite privileged shared hosting solution (better than anything I have come across in shared hosting)

    Initially the process of backup would timeout.
    Now it completes, but this is not registered in the plugin’s Dashboard

    Here what the Log says on this

    12:06:01 close returned: 1 (if null check your disk quota)
    12:06:01 log:class.zip=>ended
    12:06:01 log:act__create=>zip file size is: 106.06MB
    12:06:01 log:act__create=>zip archive complete.
    12:06:01 log:act__create=>unable to record to database

    I am also running BulletProof Security plugin on the WP installation and the other day I got a security conflict with Duplicator
    The BPS plugin’s security log had registered the following:

    However, I have run two successful backups since then and got no new security reports.

    Concerning server load impact. I find it strange that after running Duplicator and completing the backup, the memory consumption is not decreasing at any acceptable rate, but is rather kept high for considerable amount of time.

    Don’t know if this is a server issue or a plugin issue

  • Hi Definitio,

    The security reports are probably automated bots that are trying to hit older urls version of the plugin where there were know security holes. Those holes have been patched with more recent versions. This is why its always important to keep updated to the latest versions especially while the plugin is in Beta.

    In respect to the issue with your package not creating you might submit a support ticket and I can look more closely at your issue…

    Thanks

    Hi, I just installed the latest development version (0.4.2) and the successful backup did register in the dashboard.

    I will test again later and report back if this issue is repeated

    Hmm, the security block in Bulletproof Security appeared again when I ran the newest version of Duplicator

    PS: The remote address mentioned above (and censored by me) is actually my own IP address.
    So initiating the backup process is actually intepreted as a type of malicious action

    Hi Definitio,

    I installed that plugin and I’m not getting a 403. Can you navigate to the Duplicator => Diagnostics link? That plugin is saying that link is forbidden (your web server isn’t serving it up). All the diagnostics link does is echo a phpinfo, if for some reason you can’t access that link do to your servers configuration it still shouldn’t prevent you from using the Duplicator plugin and I wouldn’t consider it a security threat…

    Hi,

    Yes I can navigate to the Diagnostics link, seeing the phpinfo.

    For me too that block does not show up every single time I run Duplicator. Sometimes a security block shows up, sometimes not.

    I forgot to mention that in my redirection plugin I have previously come across a not-found report for the javascript file that Duplicator uses.

    Hey Definitio,

    Yeah I’m not sure how to get around those warnings… Maybe the plugin authors of those plugins can shed some light on the issue…
