Hi,
wp-admin, wp-includes contain most of the core WordPress components but not your specific data, themes, plugins, or upload content.
All of your themes, plugins, and upload content are typically maintained within wp-content. Then of course you have all of your site content (users/posts/pages/etc) in your database that can be backed up via phpMyAdmin.
If you’re looking to back up the whole WordPress install as well, there are other files included in core that site in the main directory you have WordPress installed.
Follow the Codex and you should be fine: http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Hi dremeda,
Thanks for the info, can you recommended a plugin that will backup and restore everyting?

There’s no free plugin that backs up EVERYTHING. I use cPanel’s backup tool for my site, but if you want just WP try one of these

http://vaultpress.com/
There are a couple I’ve used, but they are not free:

Disclaimer: These are both premium plugins. I am not associated with these plugins.

Here is a free alternative in the WordPress Plugin Repo:

I have not tried this alternative.
