I am trying to change the background to a custom made pattern image instead of just a solid color.

I am using the Tofurious theme.

Every time I add an image in the Background Colour tab it shows up in the viewer like it’s supposed to. But when I go to save the changes, it reverts back to a solid gray colour (I’m assuming it’s the default) and it never shows up on my blog page. I’m using a JPG file.

I know I need to update my WP version but the same thing was happening before I required an update of either the WP or the Tofurious theme so I’m assuming it’s not related to that.

    Can anyone help?

  • What happens if you use the default theme and try changing the background color?

I haven’t tried the default theme. Would I lose my current Tofurious theme or its settings if I switched to the default to test that?

    No – you won’t.

I just tried the three other default themes and they all worked fine so it seems the issue is with the Tofurious theme. I have put in a question to the creator of the theme but have not yet heard back. Thanks for your help Esmi.

OK, I just played around and discovered if I uncheck “no colour” the image sticks and does not disappear once I save.
