[resolved] background image in Internet Explorer (8 posts)

I have a background image that's not working in IE8 and IE9 (not sure about IE10). There's no problem on any of the other browsers I've tested on. I've tried just about everything, eg: changed url and css syntax, tried different image formats etc, but nothing's worked.
I read somewhere that javascript in the footer can sometimes cause this to happen. I'm using the Woocommerce plugin which does load a few scripts in the footer so I'm guessing that must be the problem.
Can anyone tell me how to move these scripts to the head?

Isn't it more likely to be a CSS issue? Try removing all of the styling (apart from the background image) on your website to explore this.

Yes, I think in most cases it is a CSS issue but apparently not in this particular case.

Thanks, but that plugin moves javascript into the footer, not out of it. It's the javascript that's already in the footer that I think is what might be causing this issue.
Read this post and you'll have a better idea of what I'm talking about.

It sounds like you need to post in WooCommerce's support section: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce#postform

Thanks for the advice. I'll post back here when I've resolved this issue.

The easiest solution to this problem is to use html to insert the image in the appropriate place, which is what I did. It only took a few minutes to set it up and it actually looks better done this way rather than using a background image.
