• Hello,

After following all the steps on http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress had problems not showing the links. when contated Godaddy, they advised to install Search and Replace plugin and we replace the URLs to the new URL.

I can see the other pages and the images some of images on the widgets are missing. But the images on the homepage are missing as well as the background.

    Please advise!!
    Thank you in advance

  • Can you give the URL of the homepage?

Thanks David for the response, when I contacted Godaddy again they said that the migration of the webiste was done on the windows server for some reason, so they have to migrate it to Linux. now I have to wait fro 1 hour to 72 hours and then see if it will work again.
    URL is creativebookkeeping.ca

    Thank you again

To minimise your frustration, I’d suggest you wait the full 72 hours before trying to access the site again.

    @loul,

I can see exactly why your images aren’t showing up. And I can point you to a solution that should fix it. But @esmi is correct, it won’t do any good to fix it until your host moves the site because they could reverse or make worse the situation.

Let us know when the move is done.

NOTE: no matter what you do, I recommend getting and keeping a backup of your MySQL database now!

Oh thank you so much esmi and David for your support and help 🙂 I really appreciate it. already 24 hours passed and as you suggested I will wait and I will keep you updated. One more thing I would like to get your opinion about it, Godaddy has asked me to install a plugin as soon as I get access to my website/wp-admin which called: “wpsupercash” and sctivate. What do you suggest?

    Thank you

Please note that a backup of MySQL database is already kept and saved. thanks for the advise.

I think they meant WP Super Cache – http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/

It generates static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog. After a html file is generated your webserver will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts.

It’s a good plugin but installation & set up is rather complex if you’re not technically inclined.

@loul, Yes, after you get the picture problem fixed, I also recommend WP Superc Cache. Especially if you are hosting on goDaddy. Their MySQL servers tend to get very slow. Caching will help with that.

Hi David & esmi, I just checked the URL and it’s working except without the background and without the logo on the header of the pages beside the company name and ONLY the images on the Homapage are missing.

also on the Follow Us widget I cant see the facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn icons!!

I installed the caching plugin and activate it

    Please help

    Thanks

@loul Looks like you got it fixed. I see all your images loaded. If all good, please mark as resolved. Good luck!
