Back up file too large

    Hi there.
    I am trying to online back up my website for the first time so that I can update my WordPress version.
    It gets to almost 100% but then says my database is too large (it appears to be just over the limit).
    Can you advise what I can do? My other options are to e-mail a back up or store one locally.
