Excuse me if not posted in correct Forum… anyway, can any one “in the know” give a clear reason why the “Garland” theme, that seems to be only available on Wp.com, has not been made available to download use through Wp.org, or public release?
I recall the “tensions” and related when this theme was released on WP.com, however several months have passed since then. So if the “dust is settled” between the players, then where is Garland for the average Wp blogger who knows a good 3col theme when they see one? I use this theme on WP.com, and would like to transport through to my own host. Appreciate any clarification.

  • You can download the theme from here

But for some strange reason, the color picker doesn’t work. In fact, it refuses to make an appearance in the theme admin area altogether.

I am not too sure whether it is an error or a deliberate “switch off” so that people (at least the ones not too techy to mess with the code) are not able to use its most valuable feature.

Like you, I am also looking forward to a properly working version of the theme as it is extremely interesting and I don’t feel like switching over to drupal just for the theme.

Hope that WP guys will soon release the theme for us all.

    Are the GODs listening? 😉

Thx for the reply creativatorz. I’ve given-up, and moved on…. think Garland died of un-natural causes in the grand scheme of Wp evolution.
