It took me a litle over a day to set up my portfolio site the way that I wanted. I only have to figure out a few more things to have it pretty much exactly the way I want it. Documentation for this theme is pretty good which made it a lot easier, I hadn't really done much at all with WordPress before this and have very little experience with basic html.
I do wish I had known about child themes before I made my way almost all the way through changing the full theme. oops..
