• Hi, I hoping that someone can recommend a plugin for twenty ten, I have a subscription based site and I do not want anyone to be able to download, print or snapshot any of the content they have access to, is there a plugin that can do this? I am not a programmer,so unfortunately I do not know code, but just learning as I go along. Thanks Dawn:)

  • Pretty much, no.

You can look into copy protections, etc….. but basically if it is on the web, it is free for the taking. There are things you can do like disable right click, etc., which make it slightly harder….. but the general rule is, if you don’t want someone to take it, don’t post it.

It’s impossible to protect stuff on the web. For things like photos and art, you can consider watermarks……

Like the Good Reverend said, No, you can’t do this.

Think about it — if I’m looking at your content then where is it? Answer: it’s on my computer. If I want it, you have no way to stop me. I suppose you could do something like Google Books, but that is proprietary code (some sort of AJAXy thing I think), but even the Google Gods can’t stop me from taking a screenshot of my computer.
