Fancier Author Box by ThematoSoup
Avatar squashed on IE (10 posts)

    My author gravatar/avatar on IE appears as a 14px wide by 64px high thumbnail. Not good, so I've added the following code to my style.css file:

    .ts-fab-avatar img {
    height: 64px;
    width: 64px;
    }

    Unfortunately, it has not solved the problem.

    I'd love to buy the Faciest plugin, but first I need to get the free version to work.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    Could you give me a link to your website?

    I've removed the plugin because it looked unsightly. There are other people mentioning the same problem on the web.

    Sorry to hear that.

    It happens sometimes that plugins coded with WordPress best practices in mind don't often play well with WordPress themes that aren't.

    I can see you've had issues with thumbnail sizes in some other plugins, as well.

    Maybe, it's time you start searching for the core of your problems.

    Issues have been solved, but not the core problem.

    In that case, you'd benefit greatly from looking into the issue, rather than ignoring it, since it would bring you more customers.

    The bottom line is, with your plugin the avatars/gravatars appear squashed on IE. Until that issue is solved, your plugin is not good enough.

    Hi Maria,

    Thank you so much for expressing your concern. It means a lot to us that users of our plugin are happy with our product. We don't want to ignore this issue you're having and would like to look into it.

    Would you be so kind to provide us with some details as this may not be the issue with the plugin at all, but with the WordPress theme you're using (often times themes hijack styling of website elements).

    The easiest way to handle this would be that you give me the URL of your website and enable the plugin (if you don't want to do it publicly please email me at dragan@thematosoup.com) or if you don't want to do this at all, please give me details about the following:

    1. IE version you're using

    2. WordPress theme you're using

    Thanks again.

    Thanks, Dragan. I really appreciate your help.

    I've been thinking what to do about this and I've decided to concentrate on writing content for my blog rather than adding more plugins. Here are some details, though, in case you want to look into this issue:

    1. I'm using IE7 and IE8 on a Mac through VMware

    2. My WP theme is Genesis / Balance

    On Firefox, Safari and Chrome my avatar was fine.

    One thing I noticed was that the css of my theme was obviously clashing with that of the plugin, so the layout of the tabs was not what it should be. There was a gap of about 20px between the tabs and the author box.
