Autopost to Facebook Pages not working after 2 hours (20 posts)

We've been testing the plugin at BizzyWeb with our clients, and there seems to be an issue with the autopost/authentication token. When posting from WordPress to Facebook, you need to have logged in to Facebook within 2 hours of publishing your post for the auto-post feature to work correctly (sometimes you even need to log out of FB and then log back in to get the post to work).

i posted this issue originally at WP Candy, where Matt Kelly replied and asked me to post here. We've also been posting in the WPMUDEV forums here (as "BizzyWeb": http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/postautopost-to-facebook-fails-getting-application-has-been-deleted-error#post-233072

I have the same problem. Facebook's documentation on this plugin makes no mention of needing to be logged in for this to work. I don't even understand how that is supposed to work if I want multiple authors to be able to write articles and have them all show up on my Facebook Fan Page. Do they each need to be logged in, and how do I connect their Facebook account with the Facebook App that allows the interface???

    Very frustrating.

I am also having this problem.

Page post stops when I am logged out of Facebook.

I have done a lot of research on this...

You can issue long-lived tokens for your App by heading tohttps://developers.facebook.com/apps/ and clicking Your App > Settings > Advanced

Find the line "Remove offline_access permission" and disable the setting. This will extend the life of the access tokens that allow FB to post.

@DaveMeyer -- can you confirm the fix that @bradkovach mentioned?

    Hi all,

I'm having the same issue myself and I'm only using scheduled posts. I just tried out the solution from @bradkovach and I'll come back with the result if it works.

OK, I tested the suggested fix myself last night and still did not work when i checked this morning.

Facebook need to get a fix in for this as currently anyone who needs to auto post is having to do it manually (Myself included!). It kind of makes the whole plugin useless for me which is a shame as this would have been really good.

I have changed the app as suggested above and it keeps me looged in, but it comes up with an error message when I publish, then works when I publish a second time, but only publishes a link to my blog, it doesn't publish any pictures or text to facebook at all, it's a shame really it could be really good.

    Another issue
The like button shows the same like count and person that's liked on every post, I think I'm going to move away from this plugin for a while, it needs beta testing.

Same here, auto-posting still not working after trying out @bradkovach's solution. Even after the plugin update it is not working.

I wonder if it actually works for anyone :-|

It works all the time for me as long as I am logged into Facebook as ME, not the page. Its frustrating because I have scheduled post set everyday for 9am and I don't always have time to use FB in the morning.

Can anyone suggest a good alternative? I just need my scheduled posts to appear on the Facebook page, nothing more fancy than that.

I had to give up and post items manually on FB. When this item moves to resolved state, I will try it again.

    Anyone ever get this resolved?

I was hoping to find a cure for this as well.

I have the same problem with the autopost not working. I did find a source on Jetpack that states that they are having problems with a Facebook Simple Connect and are trying to resolve that, but I have no Idea what a FSC is even.
I have found out though that if I publish, and nothing shows up, ever, immediately after publishing I can open my Facebook page and post the link from that WordPress post and it immediately shows the page. If I post a link from an already published WP post on Facebook, all I get is a link to the WordPress post and not the picture of the page, so it (WP) seems to Publish with Autopost partially, but doesn't finish unless you put the link in your FB page. It IS frustrating and it doesn't seem like there are many replies to help items here.
I am brand new and finding questions to problems many months old with no solutions, what's up with that?
One other thing; before moving to a hosted site (GoDaddy) that offers WordPress, I actually had a WordPress.com sponsored free site and I didn't have ANY problem with autopost working, so what gives with that? I'm paying for the one site with WP offered and have problems, but with a free WP site, no problems - does that sound right?

I finally gave up and decided to use TwitterFeed.com, which will feed from your rss feed to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.. In order to ensure that the right components are found by Facebook when the piece posts there, I have found Yoast's WordPress SEO to have the most effective tool for ensuring the Open Graph meta data is correct.
