   Friendly greetings!

   I've been using the Automattic Stats plugin without any problems for months. Recently, I upgraded to 2.6.5 — I don't know if that's related, but now, I can't view my stats. I deactivated then reactivated the plugin, and it tells me:

   WordPress.com Stats needs attention: please enter an API key or disable the plugin.

   I did this, using the same API key I used before — tied to my WordPress.com with the same email address I use to admin my external blog (torley.com).

   After entering my key, it gives me the option to "Add new blog to my account", which doesn't make sense, as this is the same key I've used without fail before. But I do, and that's when it tells me:

   Error from last API Key attempt:

   Missing API Key

   I keep trying this and it doesn't change. How do I fix this? The error seems to be pretty rare, but it is frustrating being locked out of my stats. Thanks much in advance!

   Having the exact same problem. My API key is in the file where it was before the upgrade, but now it won't access stats, will not let me put my API key in from within WP, and copying it back in on top of itself in the file doesn't work either. Yes, I just went full 2.6.5 (used security fix before).

   Hello there,
   I have the same WordPress version and the same problem. Does this plugin require any specific server packages or some php settings?

   I'm having this problem with a fairly new WP blog, just upgraded to WP 2.7

   I wanted to start using WP.com Stats on it, and got the plugin v 1.3.5 -- but it won't let me associate my existing API key with it. It keeps giving the same error message listed above in Post #1

   I had the same problem.

   I logged onto my wordpress account and changed my password. A new API was created and that one seemed to work with my the stats plugin on my hosted site.
