Automattic Stats - clicks don't add up (9 posts)

I've been using Automattic Stats for my WordPress installs (i.e not wordpress.com), but I've noticed some odd arithmetic: On one blog, clicks for the week on my most popular post is the same as today's count (39), when there were over 70 yesterday alone.

The above happened a few days ago. Today's weekly count is significantly lower than my current day's click count. Is anyone else seeing this new math?

Clicks are different from pageviews. Clicks count what links people click on from your posts, where pageviews count how many people view a post, regardless of where they came from. Does that explain the discrepancy or did I miss the point entirely?

I'm comparing clicks and clicks, not clicks and pageviews. :)

The seven-day totals seem to be consistently equal to (or occasionally smaller than) the daily totals, where I'd expect the seven-day totals to be significantly larger.

Overall, it seems as if there ARE no seven-day totals, only a more lengthy daily running total on the page titled (in today's case) "Clicks for 7 days ending 2007-06-18"

After looking again, this might fall under the category of 'future development'. The Clicks detail page has a header that reads "Clicks for 7 days ending 2007-06-19" has another header right below it that says "Today".

The Top Posts detail page starts out with "Today" as well, but has a few summarize options.... which are absent from the Clicks detail page.

    Still, color me confused. :)

The detail page doesn't necessarily show all of the items for each day. To keep the site fast we sometimes truncate long lists in that department.

Yes, but the clicks detail page header says weekly totals, but only shows daily totals. Right?

There's no option to view weekly or monthly totals on the clicks detail page, like there is on the post detail page.

Did you interpret "Clicks for 7 days ending 2007-06-20" as weekly totals?

Andy: exactly right! I realize that's not what is on the page, but I can only read that heading as cumulative counts for the last 7 days.

Is that a future feature, or am I having an aphasia moment?

    Anything's possible. ;-)
