    hi,
is there any solution to Automatically copy cell content from table1 to table2 so when I write something in to the cell from table1 to automatically be copied to a cell in table2.
This is because the content of 1 cell I have now to manually copy in to several tables each month, because each month I yave to change value of those cells (same value).
    Thank you,
    Catalin

    Hi Catalin,

    thanks for your question.

For this, the TablePress Extension from http://tablepress.org/extensions/table-cell-shortcode/ should be helpful. That basically allows you to use one table’s values in another one.

    Hi Tobias,
realy helps, because I have around 2000 tables to create.
    …..
I just realised that if I change the table ID to 1000 it does not change. Is the maximum number 999?

    Hi Tobias,
in addition to the above question:
The cell content from tabel1 has to be copy to tabel2, tabel3, and so on…to around 250 tables (and I understand how to do it). If I change the cell content to table1, do I have to go to all 250 tables and save again each table? It seams now that this is I have to do, which will blow my mind 🙂
    Is there any other solution?
    Thank you,
    Catalin

    for the ID 1000…
I had to close and login back, open the Tablepress and I was able to change the ID to 1000 🙂
It remain the above post request (how to easier refresh all tables).
    Thank you,
    Catalin

    Hi,

first: No, there’s no limit on the table ID, so I’m not really sure what caused that temporary glitch…

Now, what you are experiencing is the internal table output caching. Basically, TablePress tries to save resources with this, in that the table is not re-generated on every page load, but cached internally. That cache is cleared whenever the table is saved (as you have experienced), but also automatically after 12 hours.
So, you could either save the tables to update them, or just wait 12 hours (this would be an option if the data in the tables is not time-critical), or turn off the caching entirely, by installing and activating this small WordPress plugin: http://tablepress.org/download/extension/tablepress-turn-off-output-caching.zip

Now, just to mention this early enough: 2000 tables is quite a lot, and you might want to consider a better system for that, e.g. based on a custom/mySQL solution. Especially, as your tables seem to be sharing a lot of data, such approaches might be better suited in the long term.

    Hi Tobias,
Thank again for your quick and honest reply.
I will take in consideration your sugestion for mySQL solution.
    Again, thank you.
