Saw the notice of a new version of Contact Form 7 (version 2.1), and tried to use the automatic upgrade option within the WordPress admin.

    Upgrade failed, with this message:

    Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/contact-form-7.zip.

    Unpacking the update.

    Warning: unlink(/nfs/c03/h03/mnt/53171/domains/REDACTED/html/wp-content/contact-form-7.tmp) [function.unlink]: Input/output error in /nfs/c03/h03/mnt/53171/domains/REDACTED/html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php on line 154
    Could not copy file /nfs/c03/h03/mnt/53171/domains/REDACTED/html/wp-content/upgrade/contact-form-7.tmp/contact-form-7/scripts.js

Not sure if this is unique to my environment or what, but wanted to share in case others experience similar problems. I don’t _need_ the upgrade, but prefer to stay updated.

  • I’m sorry, this problem may be relating to my fault. I’ve fixed it and it should be working now.

Thank you… the larger problem is that somehow all my plugins, not just Contact Form 7, have been deactivated thanks to a header error, probably introduced by the upgrade attempt.

Digging through my directories and seeing what else I have to do to try again.

This may be a MediaTemple problem with storage clusters. Trying to dive in and figure out the root cause (and fix) here.

OK, not 100% but think this was a MediaTemple problem that has since been resolved. Plugin automatic upgrade via the WP Admin worked just now, whether because of fix by takayukister or MT fix, I’m not sure. Marking resolved.
