   Automatic upgrades of plugins in 3.3 is not working.
   I had this problem with 3.2.1 as well and it has not gone away.

   I choose automatic upgrade, then I am prompted for my FTP details and psswd, once entered, I get a screen with the wp menus down the left and along the top, but the main part of the screen remains blank and nothing happens however long I leave it.

   I have re-installed WP 3.3.

   I have checked that my ISP has the latest PHP running

   I have checked permissions on the upgrade and other relevant folders.

   (I did not that in previous install of 3.3 when I deleted the upgrade folder following advice on a thread somewhere, I was told to expect WP to recreate a new one but this didn't happen - maybe suggesting the auto-update is not communicating at all with the ftp server...?)

   the ftp details are correct, and been checked

   I can do manual updates (but I do not want to do manual updates)

   I have deactivated all plugins

   I have reverted to orginal themes at fresh install.

   Any ideas?

   What ever is a connection problem between servers check with your host.

   thanks govpatel, my isp has checked this out extensively, and there is nothing in the logs nor any reason (they claim) for it being blocked. I can manually update, but not auto. Obviously I'd prefer auto-update to work as it is less time consuming. It also worked in earlier versions (certainly the 2.X versions) but stopped working in more recent ones 3.2.1 and above.

   I have had the same problem with the upgrading except that it stops at the first step. It says it is downloading the zip folder or something and then nothing happens. I have normally used the automatic upgrade but now something is strange.

   This is the message that I get "Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.3.2-no-content.zip…"

   Any suggestions?
