I'm trying to use the automatic plugin upgrade feature but there is no directory field for me to give WordPress a hint as to where my install resides.
the ftp account I provided WP will start it in a directory higher in the tree than where WP resides
I cannot add additional users since I do not have root access....
I'd like to use this feature but can't figure out a kludge that will work. If the ftp login info in WP 2.5 prompted for directory path, it would be golden...

I sort of have the same problem. I don't mind to update them manually thus it would be nice to use the automatic function. Anyone with a solution here?

I found this forum post about the same problem. Seems there's general problem for people who use WP in a subdomain (folder) - same thing is true for myself.
I fixed it by adding a line to the the profile file to cd to the wordpress directory upon login. This fixes the automatic upgrade problem and only poses a small inconvenience to me to have to navigate back up a directory when I telnet in manually with the same login should I to be higher in the directory tree.

Hi Jmanpa,
Could you be so glad and explain what exactly you are doing?
