automatic pingback on each new post

    Whenever I make new posts to my WordPress blog, I immediately get a pingback from my own site, to my new page. It does this every time there is a new entry, and it has become quite annoying. What sort of setting could this be? How might I fix it?

    I should add that it appears the emails/pingbacks have started after I upgraded to 2.3.3
