Automatic information gathering?

I was wondering if I can grab information from somewhere automatically. My exact situation is this: I want to have a (sport) ladder in a widget in my sidebar. But I want the ladder to be automatically pulled from another site every few days (or hours, I dont really know). Is there a way to do this? I’m sorry if I did’nt explain myself very well.
