   Man WP is a great set blog system with lots of great tools But...

   I have spent hours trying to figure out how to get WP to generate XML files and place them in the feed directory or rss directory automatically. Is there some special plug in that I need to be using or what.

   If this has to be a manual operation what is the plug in for that?

   WordPress does not generate any "XML files". It builds the feeds on the fly, when they are requested. No files get generated anywhere.
