Automated Redirect (5 posts)

I think this is more of a request, but I have a question regarding already signed up members. Once a user signs up and they get redirected, is there a way to always forward them to that redirect page?

So something like this would happen:

    User signs up
    User gets redirected to page
User goes back to original page with the form
    User is automatically redirected

Not sure if this is possible but it seems that it could maybe be developed in? Would be a nice feature.

    Thanks!

    Hi Karl,

Thanks for the request, I'd have to look into it to see if it's worth building this into the core of the plugin.

Just to clarify, are you talking about registered (logged-in) users or do you mean anonymous users? Do you want them to be redirected when trying to visit a certain page containing a form or do you want them to be redirected after trying to subscribe with an email that is already on the list?

    Thanks!

PS. If you like the plugin as it is now, do you mind taking a minute to leave a review? Very much appreciated!

    Hey Danny,

Its similar to how some wordpress subscribe plugins work where it recognizes that you are signed up from that computer probably via a cookie or something and removes the sign up form.

Basically it would be nice to have people who already signed up and happened to wander back to the original form to be automatically pushed to the direct page/already subbed error.

    Hi Karl,

That certainly sounds doable but some obstacles present themselves. For the plugin it is impossible to tell whether they are the "main" thing on a page or just hanging along (like in a sidebar widget).

I might not implement this in the plugin but I will write a tutorial on how to do this real soon as that might be the best and correct way to do this. It is already possible with the plugin as it is right now because of the various filters and action hooks. Just a few lines of code in your functions.php file will do. :-)
