  • IS there anyway to add a users Usermeta fields to Autochimps Mailchimp’s sync. Currently on my mailing list management screen, I see only fields drawn from my users table.

  • I would also love to have the ability to sync user meta. My MailChimp list has some Groups I use to determine which emails to send to who, and it would be great if I could put those options on my WordPress users’ profile pages.

There’s a comment on the Wanderer LLC page, here:

that suggests it can be achieved with a little hacking, so I’m going to look into it and see what I can find. I’d appreciate hearing from anybody else if they’ve managed it.

Hi folks, just to be clear, are you interested in the other WordPress user meta fields like: aim, yim, jabber? As rgkeenan mentions, the others like “website”, “nickname”, and “bio” are already there.

No, I want the ability to sync custom fields I have added to the usermeta database table myself. That way I could mirror my MailChimp Groups on my WordPress users’ profile pages, allowing them to update their mailing list preferences without ever leaving my site. Full integration looks better and would provide a seamless experience for my users.

Agreed.. Same with here. We have created a number of custom usermeta fields (company_name, city, state, zip, expiry date, etc etc..) and would like to pass this over to mailchimp to leverage mailchimps segmentation tools.

Ah ok, that makes sense. Are you adding these custom fields manually (I can’t imagine that) or are you using a plugin? If so, which plugin?

Well, it’s a plugin, but I wrote it myself. So I guess you could call that manually.

I looked through the plugin code a bit and decided I’m just going to leave wordpress and my mailing list unconnected at least for now. Until I figure out an easier way. 🙂

    Ah Ok. I understand.

Yes, unless it’s a public plugin, a private plugin is essentially considered as doing it yourself. AutoChimp needs to have code added to it to tell it how to integrate custom fields from other plugins and third party code. For example, AutoChimp already supports BuddyPress and Register Plus Redux. To integrate those, we had to study the code for those plugins and instruct AutoChimp how, where, and when to access those custom fields. There are several other plugins that are currently not supported. Many people have inquired about other plugins and we’re currently looking into ways to funding a project like that.

You might consider porting your custom fields over to a public plugin like Register Plus Redux. That way, you’d be able to take advantage of AutoChimp. If you use an unsupported public plugin like CIMY, we’ll hopefully be able to support that soon.

    Hope this helps!

I haven’t been able to find Register Plus Redux Extra Fields in the WordPress plugin directory. I’d very much like to use AutoChimp, but if it can’t sync custom extra fields then I have to find something else. I was willing to switch from CIMY, but can’t find Register Plus anywhere to download it.

Yes, I noticed this a couple of weeks ago. It’s been pulled from the WordPress plugin repository. I’m not sure why; haven’t inquired with the author. We’re looking to do a fundraising effort this month and January to add support for other third party plugins.

AutoChimp would be perfect if it were integrated with the UserMeta or CIMY User Extra Fields. Would celebrate the moment with a big donation!

Yep! I’ll have a fundraiser very soon…just putting together some explanation materials. Thanks for your interest!

I have two sites at the moment that need to sync WordPress and Mailchimp custom user information, and it’s looking like Cimy + AutoChimp is the way to go.

Do you have an estimate of when you might finish the Cimy integration? I have a deadline for my project at the end of May ’12. If it’ll take you longer than that, I may have to do an integration myself.

    Thanks!

The end of May is quite possible, but not guaranteed. I’m hoping to have the campaign up and running within the next 3-5 days.

Any updates on this integration? I’m still in need of one, I’m afraid.

I’m way overdue, obviously! Well, we started a fundraiser campaign just a couple of days ago.

Never tried this before, but wanna find a fair way to spread the cost.
