    Hi,

I read somewhere on one of the pages at http://achievementsapp.com/ that you could have a coupon code or something sent to people who are awarded an achievement. i cant figure out how to do this.

can anyone give me some tips?

I have buddypress installed and achievements installed and i have it set so a user will be awarded an achievement when they activate their account on buddypress site but i cannot see an option to send a coupon code or a message or anything.

I was thinking that i could put a coupon code in the body of the actual achievement but wouldnt it then be seen by others who want to browse available achievements?

    Thanks
    Julian

IIRC, the coupon code was an example use case -- I think the idea was that you could provide a code in the achievement message or description, though that use case mightn't work for everyone, as you've pointed out.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I found a solution that works for me by setting an achievement to private, which basically only allows those who have received the achievement to see it. I am not sure if you intended this, but it seems to work.

I ran a few tests and I found that there is a work around that seems to work for my situation. I created an achievement with a coupon code in the body and after creating and saving the achievement I go into 'view all achievements' then quick edit the achievement and set it to private.
now when a user views another users achievements he will not see the achievement unless he also has the achievement. but everyone will see the notification in the activity stream

It will say 'User unlocked achievement so and so' in the activity stream for buddy-press which is good. If a user who has not received this private achievement clicks on the link, it will take them to a 404 page. so it is not perfect, but it is working for my needs.

I hope this helps someone. and thanks again for a awesome plugin :)

p.s I should have made it clear that users who have received an achievement will not get the 404 page and will be able to see the achievement as normal and in my case the coupon code.

    Thanks
    Julian
