Hi, I'm looking for a plugin or something so when I post linked images in my blog they appear with a fixed maximum size.
    For example:
when I put a image of 800x600px from another site, this should appear in 450x337 in my blog (proportions).
Is there a hack or something that can do this ???

    thanks.

no. and theres more than one reason why you dont want to do that.

    1. if you dont know the person behind the other web site that you are hotlinking images off, they probably dont want you leeching their bandwidth.

    2. Resizing images like that is not an acceptable solution in all browsers.

The proper and wise thing to do is to host your own images, and resize them as needed before displaying them.

I have the same problem. People use my website to post their ads. Free of charge of course. When someone links image that's wider than 450px everything goes to hell (when viewed in Safari and some other browsers). Please help us. There must be some simple solution. Right? Some plugin that says:
"This image is to big and we'll resize it proportionally so it has 450px in it's width." or "This image is narrower than 450px and we'll leave it that way.".

So...WP Gandalfs...is their such solution? Thanks in advance.
