Auto embedded videos do not show up in feed due to missing protocol (3 posts)

    Hi,
    I embed e.g. Vimeo-Videos by pasting an URL like

    http://vimeo.com/78150218

    into my post. That gets transformed into an embedded video as expected.

    BUT: In my RSS-feed it does not work, as the iFrame's URL reads

    //player.vimeo.com/video/78150218

    instead of

    http://player.vimeo.com/video/78150218

    .

    Example:
    Post http://blog.crusy.net/2014/01/30/the-touch-board/
    Feed http://blog.crusy.net/feed/

    My feed reader (Fever) interprets this as a local URL to my blog, which leads to a 404. BTW: I see this a lot, even on other blogs and/or previous versions of wordpress

    never mind: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12392518/used-instead-of-http-on-src-attribute

    AFAIK Vimeo (and Youtube?) require HTTPS – does this mean HTTP-only web based feed readers do not work with embedded videos?

    How does WordPress handle this? I mean: I read my blog post on HTTP but the protocol relative URL does work. The same should be possible w/ my feed reader, and I would like to pass a note to the developer...
