   How do I stop the uploader automatically creating a 940x198 image for every media file that I upload (WP Flash uploader). I don't need these images.

   Yes, that's correct (or actually a child of 20-10)

   Just delete the unwanted images via Media -> Library.

   Thanks, but I was hoping not to have them created in the first place.
