Hi there. I'm having an issue authenticating my wp site with my analytics account.
The error the plugin (or google) throws up is:
AuthSub target path prefix does not match the provided "next" URL
It's a new domain name, and I've added it to my webmaster account and created a profile in my g analytics account... just can't get the plugin and the account to connect.
I realise this prob isn't the plugin (the plugin actually helped me see what the issue is!) but I'm wondering if anybody has had this issue and worked out how to get around it (no luck yet, as I trawl through google forums and other posts).
Thanks for any help
Jose

Ok - solved. I found Joost's tip: insert the ID code manually.
Thanks Joost!

I am having the same problem. Where do you insert the ID code?
Thanks,

Well, I'm glad you think I'm so amusing. People come to the forums for help, not to be mocked.
On another thread, I learned using "wp-admin" after the domain was what I needed.

@ Am facing similar issue. Can you please let me know where to add the wp-admin in Google Analytics or the Authentication URL?

I put it after the URL, and it worked:
http://domain.com/wp-admin

@tropicofmom thanks for the quick reply.
I actually meant if you put in in Google Analytics account? or someplace else?

hello,
The solution (involves more steps) is to add your domain in your Google account using this link https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageDomains
Once you do that you will have to click a link "manage http://www.yourdomain.com" and in the "Target URL path prefix:" field enter the URL as:
http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=google-analyticator.php
After its done, simply try authenticating again and it works.

This ISN'T working. Any other ideas?
@captaindigital This is working to me, I just followed these suggestions:
- logged into https://accounts.google.com/ManageDomains and added domain
- wrote "http://mydomain.com/wp-admin"
- anything on "Domain Specification"
- hit save
Then on Wp side:
- added "profile ID": it was in Analytics' section "Profile Settings" of my website account
- (save)
- hit authorize Google Analyticator
- accept all clauses
- get back on wordpress
- (save)
- select through dropdown your account (verify no presence of red coloured errors)
- (save)
- in dashboard you should see your stats
