Authors of equal permission should not be able.. (5 posts)

    ..to edit each other's posts. Its a little silly and would like to see WP go back to the old way.

    I agree - it should be at least switchable by the admin,
    tho I don't see a use for the setting where authors of the equal level are allowed to edit each other's postings...

    Right, maybe users at a higher level can edit posts from users at a lower level or something - but generally speaking there should be a way to make so users can not edit each others posts.

    actually, according to http://codex.wordpress.org/User_Levels i think this is a bug...users at the same level should not be able to edit each others posts
