Author Links not appearing

    Hello, I read throughout the message boards and have found answers more advanced than I am ready for. I am the only author (and admin) for my site but when I try to click my name in the posts, it gives an error 404 message. I’ve looked through everything in settings, users, and links, and nothing is jumping out at me. Thanks for the help.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    Thanks Esmi, I have several contact forms for classes I’d like people to register for. The PlugIn I used is User Pulse. If I deactivate that plugin, do you know if I will lose all the forms?

    When I revert to the standard WordPress theme there is no link to the author at all which, at least while I am the only author is fine, but eventually I’d like to have guest authors and give them credit for their work.

    As far as I can recall, as soon as you have more than 1 post author, Twenty Eleven generates author links automatically.

    Thanks Esmi, that is definitely reassuring. Do you, or anyone, have any ideas on how to fix the author link in the meantime?

    The theme I am using is Online Marketer. My site is http://www.testprep101.com

    It could be that your theme is simply not designed to show author links at all.

    Oh no! That would not be good if I were adding guests. In the meantime and in that case, do you know how I could eliminate the author link completely? Thanks again for continuing to answer.

    You will probably need to start customising your theme’s template files – preferably via a child theme.
