Author Bio Excerpts

    Hey guys,

    I’m giving up and heading here to ask this because I haven’t had any luck on my own. What I would like to do is make it such that only a fraction of an author’s bio shows up on a specific page (an excerpt). I have made my own author list page using “Author Avatars List” shortcode, not the default author list page. If you think it would be easier to just use the author list page, I’m open to that. How would I go about making an excerpts display on this page and have something like a “read more” button that links to the author’s profile? I’ve tried various functions and plugins but none seem to do exactly what I want.

    I’m thinking that a custom template for a page suits this.
    Using page.php as default template modify it to show only the data you like to show about an author using functions like: get the author meta and get avatar

    then add a link to the full autor page (that could be another page with a custom template) that has all the info.
