   I just noticed that in Atahualpa Theme Options if I mark a given sidebar to appear on Single Posts and "Page" pages, it also shows up when somebody goes to a page or post id that doesn't exist. I thought the "Not Found" option would be in play in those cases.

   Is there any way to make it so that the sidebar does not show up on those error pages? The idea is to hide info from people who are not logged in, and therefore do not have access to the rest of the site.

   Did you contact the theme author?

   No, they have a forum but I thought I'd ask here before joining another forum, as most plugin & theme authors monitor when they are tagged in the WP forums.
