Hello,
My host is AT&T/Yahoo. They have one-click installation of WordPress. I installed a brand new blog on August 21, 2007 and if I right-click>properties (in Firefox) it says the version of WordPRess powering the page is 2.0.1. Is it typical that they (AT&T/Yahoo) would eventually upgrade to the latest version, or is this something I should do? Since it's a new blog, I can overwrite all the files, but I'm hesitant if it's likely they will come along and do the same.
Thanks

They never will as you found out. Only solutions are to do it yourself or find a different host.

Moonbat,
I also have a wordpress blog hosted by AT&T/Yahoo. I noticed yesterday that on the manage tab of the Web Hosting Control Panel, there is an "edit" link next to the upgrade option listed. There you can chose to have wordpress upgraded automatically or do it manually. I am set to upgrade automatically, but the web host control panel lists me as version 2.0.1. So I guess poorfish is right. Maybe if you chose the manual method you will be able to upgrade yourself.
I am considering this myself, to maybe solve a problem I am having with linking in the visual editor. But I'm also worried this will just create more problems, after reading some of the requests for help from people in the latest version.
Wish I could offer more help.
Thanks,
But I've since moved to Bluehost in order to escape Yahoo's poor implementation of WordPress.
