Associate a post with a CPT page (1-to-1)

    Suppose that you have a post that when it’s displayed as part of an archive links to a page instead of itself. How would one do this?

    In other words I would like to associate a page with a post.

    The background to my question is that I would like some posts when displayed as part of an archive to link to their respective page of a Custom Post Type in order to display a richer page than the post itself. I’ve used a CPT template to get a uniform look for such pages.
