Events Manager and WPML Compatibility
Assigning locations across multiple languages (5 posts)

    First: many thanks for your work on this. It was precisely what we needed. WPML with events works well with one exception. It seems inconsistent in how it works with locations.

    I can translate a location but I can not assign a translated location to a translated event. This should happen automatically (location is assumed to be the same as the original), but is failing.

    Now when I look at the translated location no events are listed. I would expect to see here the translated events for that location.

    Original (english): http://www.labri.nl/wp/locations/eck-en-wiel/

    Translated: (dutch): http://www.labri.nl/wp/nl/locations/huize-kortenhoeve/ -> no events while there are several planned here (also in dutch) see for example:

    Hi Hansguide,

    I can't help you with your current problem but I have one with the general event listing which seems to work on your site:

    http://www.labri.nl/wp/events/

    http://www.labri.nl/wp/nl/113-2/

    There are the listings of future events in the different languages. How did you get this to work? Because this exact thing doesn't work on my site. Unfortunately I can't post links here because it's a company site and not published yet :-/

    But here are screenshots of the german and english page. As you can see the english version works just fine (there is just one event added for now). But on the german version there is nothing.

    Any help how to get this to work is highly appreciated! Any clues somebody?

    @hansguido

    what should happen is that you choose a location for the main event, and then a translated location information should be shown if there's a translation available when viewing transaltions of the event.

    I tested this out, it works for me (double-check with the latest update, but don't think it'll make a difference here).

    Or am I missing something?

    Hi Marcus, what you state is correct. A location is chosen for the first language. When translating the location wil be copied automatically (translated version is shown). Works when looking a the translated event page. But not when showing "all events on the translated location", it then does not find any of the events where the location was translated automatically. Viewing all events on a specific location only works for me for all newly created events, not the translated ones.
