Arras Theme Tips

Hey everyone this is Mitchery with allcheese and I wanted to go over how I set up my site with Arras.

First of all I have to say that I absolutely love this theme and am getting comments on it all the time.

The Single Column Layout

The single column layout allows for a big slideshow which is very impressive. I create my slideshow images in photoshop using dimensions of 950 x 300. Below the slideshow I have the node base set up to 6 and i have the images set to 295 x 120. Below I have a traditional set up and below that common links. For the navigation during search or additional pages I set to quick preview mode giving the images a size of 280 x 120. All of these thumbnail settings can be changed in the thumbnail tab in arras settings.

The Footer

I removed some code in the footer.php which removed the initial bar above the bottom footer and then I copied my own code in the footer section of general tab of the arras setting using a table I created with html.

You can find the arras tablet here (there are 1 column, 2 and 3 column setups. One column works just fine for me but to take advantage of the widgets you would have to use a 2 or 3 column (or you can use the footer widget on a single column).
