   While upgrading I overwrote my wp-config file without backing up a copy, and now when I try to log in I get this error:

   This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.
   
       * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
       * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
       * Are you sure that the database server is running?
   
   If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

   I've re-typed all the info in, and username, password and database are all as they were, except I think I had a secret key, and can no longer remember what that is.

   How can I fix this?

   the secret key is not a big deal to get it going

   go to your host control panel and to the mysql management
   see what is listed for database name, user, etc.
   if you can't remember your password, change it here and put the values listed in your wp-config.php and run the upgrade again
