Has anyone had problems with Ascetica 0.1.8 by Galin Simeonov not showing menus properly? I have site at ourselveswalking.com that is not working and apparently the theme is free but I haven't been able to get the developer to talk to me. Does anyone have experience with his themes? Are his themes worth working with?

Hi Annie,
As far as I can tell, the themes are free but support isn't.
They seem to be pretty good themes* so you might consider $29pa a reasonable price for the theme and unlimited support.
Ascetica is supported from ThemeHybrid.com.
(*The themes are nice but I'm having a problem getting Featured Images working. The theme description says Ascetica supports them but I can't see how to get them working.)

I actually got the theme working pretty well. The problem was my fault. I haven't tried the featured images, but I have put an image at the top now.

Go to appearance, theme settings upload. I think you can also set background images there, but I didn't to that.

I don't understand how to get the slider to work, and I don't want to pay $30 until I know I want to use the theme. Any thoughts on how to get the slider to work? I don't see any place in settings or Appearance where there's an option for slider.

My client changed the theme. I made the mistake of showing him how to do that. Big mistake. I hope it works out for you. Peace.

Sticky posts are in the slider, so you need to assign some of your posts as sticky posts.
