• I have some sidebar content that I’ll be updating periodically, and I was wondering if there was a way to archive this stuff as well (v. adding Pages and archiving by hand). I have looked through the WP Codex but didn’t see anything that would instruct me along these lines… am I missing it, or is this just not possible with WP?

  • What do you mean by “archiving”? By default, WordPress archives posts by month, so at the end of the current month, I believe they all become “archived” into that month and you start fresh. Did you mean something else?

I mean posting content to the sidebar that won’t show up as an entry–but will post and archive like one (only not WITH other entries). I don’t know how to explain it well… I took the pass. protection off of my weblog so that you can see what I’m trying to do. The headers & accomanying text of “What he’s enjoying” “What he’s saying” etc. are what I’d like to have archived separately. Is there a way to exclude the content of certain categories from being posted as an entry (instead listing certain categories only in the sidebar?)

The only way I can thing to do it is to make Pages for each of the headers I’ve got and archive the sidebar text by hand, but I’m hoping there’s an easier way.

Ignore the color scheme by the way, I’ve been experimenting so it looks horrible. 😛
