I was just wondering whether you let your DB grow or archive (or delete) old posts??? I mean how big should we let the DB grow (especially if it's a popular site)? Is there a plugin that does this DB maintenance / archiving easy or do you use phpadmin to do that?
Thanks for any insights!

Hi samboll, thanks for the link. I am asking more concerning the DB size which will continue to grow larger and larger. What does people do here? Puting aside that we have deleted spam, etc. and we have a clean DB that is growing fast. Just let it grow or delete old posts (say from 5 years ago)? Any best practices?
it really depends on your host's mysql server and the size limit they allow. I wouldn't worry about deleting/archiving any posts as long as you are below size limits and server continues to perform optimally.
