Hi, I just made this search : http://thissouthernmom.com/?s=Bibles on your website and I see no issues.
Could you please give an example of the problem
Thanks
Well of course it would work now! Thanks for your quick response!
Try clicking through from the category menu up at the top. I would expect the result to return all posts I have classified in that certain category but I don’t get that page. Once I get the long-winded archive list, I can either click categories or pick a month and it really won’t return a page like you just mentioned. Sometimes I get a post heading up top but I can’t get the post to actually show itself or click through to the actual post.
I see two possible causes for this :
1) a plugin conflict => try to desactivate all plugin one by one and see which one is in conflict
2) a permalinks settings probleme => go to settings > permalinks and set the option to default, and then back to post name.
AS an example, the demo site is handling the categories fine with v3.1.6 of the theme (which I’ve seen you are using) : http://demo.themesandco.com/category/uncategorized/
Thanks for your feedback on this
I tried your suggestions but unfortunately it didn’t work. I double checked the rest of my Menu and Settings and made sure the links match up. Even if I go through the menu in the back end and change the settings to each category link and select “view” it opens me up to the broken page.
I have also tried backing out all of my CSS styling to make sure I didn’t accidentally hide the feed.
Since when do you have this problem? After a theme update or before?
Thanks
Long before. Probably since early Fall? I haven’t done much updating to the site since then. Just tabled all the bugs to fix at once!
Fixed it!! Apparently back in my last redesign I had added some PHP to the child theme and it kept overriding everything from the original. Thanks for all of your help. I wouldn’t have thought to look there had you not mentioned the timeline of the problem!
Ok thanks for this feedback.
I wanted to make sure it was not due to an upgrade.
Well it’s hard to identify what is causing this issue…at this point, I feel as stuck as you are! I don’t like this feeling either!
It looks like removing all of my custom PHP fixed it. Take a look and make sure it looks good on your end as well but it’s working just like the demo on my end!
Thanks again!
Yes!! It looks fine for me too!
Thanks for this feedback, happy you fixed it!
