Archives permalink redirection

Hi guys,

I’ve recently upgraded my blog to WP 2.7. So far I’ve been using the “www.domain.com/archives/year/month/day/title” URL format for the blog permalinks, but I would like to ditch the “archives” from the URL to make it simply have “www.domain.com/year/month/day/title”. I’m aware that I can do this from admin panel (Permalink Settings), but what I would also like to do is redirect the old archives URL requests to the new non-archives URL, such that:

http://www.domain.com/archives/year/month/day/title

..redirects to..

http://www.domain.com/year/month/day/title

Please help me resolving this. Thanks!
