Archive template

I’ve created a custom content type which uses the slug “staff”. Now when I view /staff it shows me an archive of the posts in that content type.

I want to customize how THAT archive looks, differently from other archives.

I know how to make a custom archive, I don’t know how to tell this custom content type to use it.

In the short term I’ve created a page at /about/staff and written some custom stuff in there, but then individual staff jump back to /staff/bob-smith which just feels odd to me.

How can I edit the archive page that a custom content type uses?
