Be aware, that blogs with many posts don’t seem to work with these types of plugins. I have tried it with my journal of 1600 entries and it won’t work as it takes up way too much memory to try and load it.

SRG Clean Archives is the one that I am using now. Sorry I didn’t post it before. It is not as fancy as the other ones, but will show all entries with minimal server memory.

Hmm, Thanks for the replies. I looked into the plugins, none do exactly what I want. I don’t have that many posts, nor do I plan on ever reaching 1600 in number! It seems like if I knew enough about the wordpress code this would be possible. Right now, for example, on the index page all it’s doing is querying the 8 most recent posts and then looping through the resluts and displaying them right? So why couldn’t I change the query and have it return ALL posts and loop through them in the same way? A plug-in seems like overkill to me for this.
If you just want different number of posts displayed on index, on archives, category, search etc…
use this plugin:

The link given by Moshu is no longer working and the plugin is not available or supported. Does anyone know of another plugin that will do the same thing. (different number of posts displayed on index, on archives, category, search etc…)
Thanks!
