Archive list by category

I’m trying to display and archive list in my sidebar (e.g. January 2009, February 2009, etc…) that links to an archive page that displays all entries in ONLY one category.

My question is two fold:
1. How do I make the sidebar archive list only sensitive to posts in that category?
2. How do I create the archive pages for that single category?
