i have the site up and have the template changed. Permalinks are working fine with the mode rewrite.

The problem i am having is the archive link.
the link that says "december 2004" is http://www.kaptainsatellite.com/blog/%postname

and the link on the calender is http://www.kaptainsatellite.com/blog/%pos

i have put a few test post up and all the post links seem fine. i just have no idea why this is not working. i have not installed any plugins.

  2. That's because your permalinks don't have any form of date structure. Your need to have a date structure for the calendar to work. Plus, it's recommended. You may make one "Another Blogroll Update" post, but the moment you make a second, your site is toast. Use this permalink structure instead. The /archives/ is also critical:

ok... i changed and updated my permalinks structure... and i made two more test post and everything seems to be working for all the links.

i don't understand what you meen by "Another Blogroll Update" i asumed u meant make couple of freash post????

  4. No, I meant if you make two posts with the same name. Ex: In December 2004, you make a post called "Another Blogroll Update". And, in January 2005, you make a post called "Another Blogroll Update". Had you of been using your original permalinks, you would have had two posts sharing the URL http://www.kaptainsatellite.com/blog/another-blogroll-update/. This would have sent your site and its structure into total chaos. Now, with your new permalinks, you will have two posts. One at http://www.kaptainsatellite.com/blog/2004/12/29/another-blogroll-update/ and one at http://www.kaptainsatellite.com/blog/2005/1/29/another-blogroll-update/.
