    Hello,

I am using WP 3.5.1 and JQuery player Pro 2.1

I am trying to sell songs using this player. It is listed under FAQ’s that I am to use “FetchApp” to actually host song files and sell songs. Do I have to use this specific app? If not, are there alternatives?

On the FetchApp FAQ, it mentioned I could use Amazon’s S3 service but, to me, the answer was not clear. Is that just for storage part of the FetchApp service or is it a complete and separate service that integrates with the JQuery Player?

    Thanks for any help.

    Colin

    Hi Colin,

FetchApp is just one option for distributing the music. But actually you can use any service or another plugin… there is simply a link attached to each buy button – all you need to do is paste in a link to the script that initiates the purchase. The idea was to make it as flexible as possible.

I wrote a tutorial for FetchApp because I found it works really well.
But I’ve also seen very successful demos from users who are using other plugins, including Easy Digital Downloads and WP eCommerce.

Re your FetchApp question – FetchApp hosts the files, that’s what you’re paying for really with their service. It’s a 3rd party (I’m not affiliated with FetchApp in any way) so you’ll have to enquire further about your Amazon S3 question with them.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you very much.

I already have WP ecommerce so I will integrate with that.
