• To my knowledge, when a template is created and applied, any page created using that template should look similar, right?

I am taking over the website from another designer and the template used on one page has a specific design. However, when I use that template for a new page, the new page is different. Any possible reason?

In most cases, yes, but there are exceptions. What theme are you using? Where was it downloaded from?

Unfortunately, the theme is custom. Can the main theme effect the uses of a template. The template on one page allows for an overview image while the same template for another page does not. Even with the same parent page setup.

Also the template from one page has no effect when applied to another page.

I’m sorry but we cannot offer much help with custom themes as we have no idea how they were constructed. Longer term, you might want to contact the original developers of the theme or try hiring someone to look into this for you.

Yes – that could be eminently possible using conditionals.

    Ditto, I’m afraid.

My theme allows me to create and edit custom fields within the templates. If I create a new one, is the code generated when create a new template through the visual interface. Or is coding still involved?

Since I do not have access to your custom theme, I couldn’t say.

It seems this is the custom field editor. Does any of it look familiar?

Sorry – I’ve not used that plugin.
